here I am, back at school. Spring Break in South Beach, Miami, was unreal. From frolicking along the beach to face-sized margaritas, electric bikes and $20 concerts with Benny Benassi, Afrojack, Gotye, & Martin Solveig…oh, and did I mention we danced with Paris Hilton? :) well, she was in the room at least…
It was interesting since it was the week right before Ultra Music Festival, and so the Winter Music Conference was going on - making it hard but not impossible for us ladies to go dancing for cheap, but was an experience.
The Clay Hotel was PERFECT, right on Espanola Way where we had Tapas and Cuban food daily, along with Sangria and got to listen to fun Spanish music. Our little room had a tiny fridge which was perfect for stocking the necessities (fruit, water, some chips, & of course other drinks :) ). We gave the extras to the Italians/French/Russians we met who are living in the hotel for a year.
WHICH is interesting in itself - these kids come from Milan, Paris, Dubai, etc. who are in their 20s from all walks of life, and are paid to attend schools in Miami to learn English! Most use it as an excuse to get a Visa and explore America, which I am super jealous about…why can’t we have that kind of program!? It was funny though since they told us how they “LOVE AMERICA” and want to be “American Boys”, but really Miami is the only city they’ve seen. And that, is definitely not America. We told them to go to NYC or DC to see how it really is, maybe even Wisconsin if they really want a good view, but the European party scene of Miami paradise was new to all of us.
